Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Slot Shift Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day slot operations on an assigned shift. Must be able to demonstrate leadership by example on a daily basis and actively promote enterprise events to our guests.This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Ensures compliance with all State and Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise policies and procedures, including Internal Controls (ICs).
•Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of responsible areas, ensuring all chairs are pushed in.
•Ensures that team members work with security personnel and other casino staff as necessary.
•Ensures compliance with guest service policies.
•Ensures all evaluations for assigned team members are completed on time.
•Promotes positive guest relations, greets guests and creates a friendly atmosphere.
•Observes and recognizes irregularities, violations, or other discrepancies in casino personnel or guests and institutes appropriate action.
•Applies fair and consistent supervision and disciplinary practices.
•Investigates and resolves guest complaints.
•Responsible for the planning, creating and administering work schedules and assignments.
•Assists in the coordination and preparation of special slot machine functions.
•Issues appropriate disciplinary action according to TOGE departmental policies.
•Monitors the performance of direct reports, ensuring adherence to all casino policies and procedures.
•Understands the various types of slot and video machines cheating methods and is able to recognize any potential attempts while monitoring assigned section.
•Prepares shift reports.
•Attends mandatory meetings as scheduled.
•Supervises and manages personnel, which includes work allocation, training and problem resolution.
•Motivates team members to achieve peak productivity and performance.
•Authorizes jackpots according to approved policies and completes required forms if necessary.
•Supervises and assists area as needed.
•Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all required departmental, TOGE, TOGO, and/or ADOG reports.
•Assists with the planning and budget preparation for the department.
•Handles guest issues and complaints in a positive win, win fashion using all the resources available and using sound business practices in accordance with policies and procedures.
•Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of Slot experience required plus one (1) year of general leadership experience; or four (4) years of leadership experience at a supervisory level or above. Must be 18 years of age or older. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license and to include the following:
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
•Must have knowledge of mechanical functions and play aspects of slot machines, procedures and casino floor operations.
•Must be able to use the slot machine management system for statistical game performance reporting, player tracking, and other system-generated reports on a daily basis.
•Must be able to analyze reports.
•Must have skills in professional management techniques; including human skills, technical skills and conceptual skills.
•Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels both internally and externally.
•Must be able to interact effectively with Tribal, State and National Regulatory Officials.

•Must have skills in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint), also an understanding of casino management systems.
•Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
•Must be able to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to walk. The team member occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evenings, graveyards, holidays and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may also be required; to include rotating shifts.
Under direct supervision of the IT Support Manager, responsible for coordinating, tracking, designing, set-up, testing, operation and repair of the Casino’s Audio Visual (A/V) equipment and systems. Delivers the full range of A/V services offered to the Casino’s team members and guests through the exercise of independent judgment and the exercise of discretion. Troubleshoots technical issues and maintains a working knowledge of various product platforms. Designs and performs new system installs and upgrades to existing systems and components. Additional tasks include system maintenance, documentation, AV sales support and requirements requested by guests or directed by management.
Under direct supervision of Desert Diamond Casino – Phoenix Purchasing Manager, processes purchase orders from approved requisitions. Obtains written quotes from Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE) approved vendors and documents vendors performance. May be responsible for various commodity buying including but not limited to food and beverage ordering, vendor licensing monitoring or uniform acquisition.
Under direct supervision of the Employee Relations Manager, is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures directly and indirectly related to Employee Relations. Assists with the administration of the drug-free workplace drug testing program, including record keeping and provider relations. Extensive interaction with departmental supervisors, managers, team members and public is required.
Under direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, cleans and maintains the offices, common areas, casino floor, restrooms and loading dock area.
Under direct supervision of the Access Control Manager, installs, troubleshoots repairs and maintains the Access Control System, Electronic Key System, Locking Devices, Visitor Management System, and any other hardware related to the same, for the Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise.
Under general direction of Environmental Services Shift Manager, supervises the daily activities of Environmental Services, including personnel assignments, training and management, quality assurance, problem resolution, and inventory control.
Under direct supervision of the Executive Chef, manages the daily kitchen stewarding operations and staff. Areas of responsibilities include dish room operations, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance, banquet plating and food running. Works to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance in all areas of responsibility. Responsible for total maintenance and sanitation in all food production service areas; ensure all food and beverage outlets have sufficient equipment to perform adequately. Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports. Must ensure sanitation and health standards are achieved. Areas of responsibility comprise overseeing all food preparation, food service and support areas as applicable.
Under direct supervision of the Food Court Manager, Bar Manager, or Restaurant Manager (based on assigned venue), oversees operations for the Food & Beverage operations and maintains professional, efficient and courteous Food and Beverage operations; by greeting guests and team members, establishing a rapport with them, and giving them outstanding service and training in a professional and timely manner. Works in tandem with culinary staff to exceed guest’s expectations. Must have extensive knowledge of Title 4 (Arizona liquor law). Under direct supervision of the Desert Diamond Casino- Phoenix Director of Casino Marketing, the Marketing Database Manager is responsible for maintaining the security, integrity and precision of the database as it relates to all player reinvestment activities. This position is responsible for developing budgets, strategies, communications and operational procedures for player reinvestment programs.
Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for the general plumbing maintenance, repair and remodeling of all casino facilities, and grounds.
Under general supervision of the Poker Shift Manager, oversees daily Poker operations.

Under general supervision of the Senior Internal Auditor, performs work of moderate difficulty in performing audits and other related activities utilizing standard audit procedures relating to the evaluation of the Gaming Operation’s compliance with NIGC and Tribal Gaming Office Minimum Internal Control Standards, the Enterprises’ Internal Controls and other regulatory requirements. Performs other related work as assigned.
Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs preventive maintenance, repair, and renovation on facilities and grounds.
Under direct supervision of the Manager on Duty - Senior, provides departments with assistance, support, and inter-departmental coordination as necessary to achieve the financial, operational, and guest service performance expectations set forth for the shift. Observes shift activity and reports findings and recommendations to the Manager on Duty - Senior.
Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, ensures efficient operation, general maintenance, preventive maintenance, service, and repair of commercial kitchen appliances, refrigeration and equipment.
Under direct supervision of the Assistant Sous Chef, prepares food items according to the production sheet for the assigned area. Delegating task/jobs to cooks, firm understanding of menus or prep sheets, advanced knowledge of basic culinary techniques and methods.

Under direct supervision of the Executive Sous Chef, provides supervision and coaching to all Lead Cooks, Cooks, and Kitchen Stewards. Assists in all menu creation, labor control, food cost control, scheduling, ordering and procurement of food/product and daily operations of all food venues.
Under direct supervision of the Security Supervisor, responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of the casino’s assets, personnel, guests and all visitors during their assigned shift.
Under direct supervision of the Surveillance Supervisor, protects the assets of the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, guests, and team members from cheating, theft, advantage play, and ensures all rules, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to and followed by utilizing surveillance equipment.
Under general supervision of the Table Games Shift Manager, oversees daily table game operations.
Under direct supervision of the Table Games Floor Supervisor, deals accurately, professionally, and proficiently all Table Games offered by the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE) to guests while creating a fun, friendly, and courteous environment for all guests.
Under direct supervision of the Slot Tech Manager, coordinates all installs, conversions and preventive maintenance for Slot Department related machines and equipment of the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE).
Under the direct supervision of the Slot Operations Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day slot operations on an assigned shift. Responsible for supervising, managing, and monitoring the overall slot area including all slot department team members for efficiency, guest service, adherence to all departmental, Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE), Tohono O’odham Gaming Office (TOGO), and Arizona Department of Gaming (ADOG) policies, procedures, and directives, protecting all TOGE assets. Develops and mentors team members.

Protects the assets of the casino property, guests and team members. Must possess excellent knowledge of all casino departments, including table games, slots, cage and soft count. Must possess excellent observational and communication skills. Must be able to identify and detect internal and external cheating, theft and advantage play techniques.
Under direct supervision of the Poker Assistant Shift Manager, monitors Poker tables, Dealers, and all non-department personnel coming in contact with the Poker tables on assigned shifts.

This position entails prepping food items, learning of cooking/baking techniques and theories, placing stock in proper storage areas, cleaning and maintaining work areas and kitchens, being an understudy of the cook/pastry cook position and overall production for all Food & Beverage venues.
