Position Summary

Supervises the overall Cage/Vault operation and personnel on an assigned shift.

Supervision Exercised

Supervised by the Cage/Vault Manager.

Supervises and leads the work of assigned personnel.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Ensures each Cage/Vault Employee has been trained in all Internal Controls and procedures.
  2. Ensures each Cage/Vault Employee provides accurate, friendly, timely and courteous service to customers.
  3. Ensures each Cage/Vault Employee has been trained annually in Title 31 and complies with reporting procedures.
  4. Supervises the cage operation during their assigned shift.
  5. Maintains an adequate currency, coin and chip inventory to ensure the casino demands are met.
  6. Oversees and monitors the cash drop transfers into vault.
  7. Oversees cash counts and other paperwork on a daily basis.
  8. Monitors and ensures the shift is in compliance with the System of Internal Controls, Department rules and Casino Policies.
  9. Views Surveillance footage as necessary to resolve disputes or research variances.
  10. Provides reports to Cage/Vault Manager and other department managers as necessary.
  11. Provides recommendations to the Cage Manager for improvements in operations and Internal Controls.
  12. Develops new Internal Controls and modifies existing Internal Controls to comply with NIGC MICS.
  13. Interviews applicants and makes recommendations for hire.
  14. Schedules and directs the work of assigned cage/vault staff.
  15. Reconciles payroll timekeeping system for assigned shift.
  16. Ensures timely submittals of employee performance appraisals.
  17. Ensures timely and efficient departmental communications.
  18. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

  1. Ability to supervise, lead and direct the work of assigned staff.
  2. Ability to deal effectively with the public and casino staff.
  3. Ability to work under pressure.
  4. Ability to use personal computers and various software applications.
  5. Knowledge of casino accounting requirements and thorough analytical and problem solving ability.
  6. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
  7. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Three (3) years’ experience in a casino cage operation including one (1) year of supervisor experience.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors.
  2. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  3. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  4. Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  5. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  6. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:
  • Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry
  • Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate
  • Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate
  • Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
