Koi Nation of Northern California

Santa Rosa, CA

The Koi Nation is a federally recognized tribe of Southeastern Pomo people located in Sonoma County, California. We are descendants of one of the oldest tribes of native people in California, with a history in the region of Sonoma and Lake Counties that goes back 17,000 years. Darin Beltran is our Tribal Chairman.

We have selected a 68-acre site in unincorporated Sonoma County to re-establish our tribal land base and have filed plans to build the Shiloh Resort & Casino on our property at 222 E. Shiloh Road, just over 10 miles from our Tribe’s historic lands within California’s Pomo territory.

The project will include a 2,500 Class III gaming machine facility, a 400-room hotel, six restaurant and food service areas, a meeting center and a spa. The property will be designated as entirely non-smoking. The design for the low-rise facility integrates with the natural beauty of the site and will be energy-efficient and respectful of the environment, in keeping with our Tribe’s historic relationship with the land.

The Koi Nation will build and operate the resort and casino under the 1988 federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA). Koi Nation attorneys in Washington, D.C., have filed an application to place the land into trust with the federal government, making it eligible for gaming under the IGRA. The action will lead to an environmental review and public comment period to begin by the first quarter of 2025.

Re-establishing ourselves on sovereign land will not only benefit our tribe and our people, but also benefit our long-time neighbors in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. The Tribal Council of the Koi Nation remains firmly dedicated to completing these objectives and realizing its vision for the tribe’s future and for the community in which we live.
