Housekeeping Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for supporting Red Hawk Casino’s culture and providing service that exceeds our guests’ expectations. 
  • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Hotel Housekeeping department. 
  • Develops, implements, and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
  • Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Assists in the budget process for the department and provides recommendations; ensures compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reports budget concerns to manager.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Ensures that guest rooms are well maintained and in proper repair.
  • Oversees and manages inventory of all supplies; ensures Housekeeping department has adequate par level supplies on hand. Ensures that linen and supplies are tracked and accounted for daily.
  • Monitors and makes recommendations on all Housekeeping-related contracts.
  • Monitors, maintains, and has final decision on level of cleanliness in hotel rooms.
  • Expedites and oversees special requests from the Front Desk.
  • Reports all maintenance problems and assures protection of all hotel property from possible damage.
  • Oversees daily cleaning of occupied rooms, as well as the preparation of rooms for new check-ins.
  • Maintains knowledge of and compliance with all safety and health standards set by OSHA and local Health Department.
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues in a timely manner
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in departmental and company matters.
  • Ensures team members meet current and future business objectives, deliver quality products, and service that meets the guest needs.
  • Works in a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized manner abiding by all health and safety regulations
  • Maintains a professional appearance and acts as a role model according to the established grooming and appearance policy.
  • Stay informed on department and property knowledge and promotions
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Casino/Hotel industry experience preferred with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related preferred or equivalent education and experience. 
  • Requires Two-years hotel experience. 
  • Four years’ experience in guest service and housekeeping preferred.  
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have solid customer service skills. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Applicants should possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and utilize a variety of standard computer systems/office productivity software at an intermediate or advanced level 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues. 
  • Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Housekeeping team members in times of emergencies.
  • Must be able to operate equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, computer, copy machine, mop, broom, and handheld radio.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 
  • Must have ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 40 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
