The Opportunity

In the role of Kitchen Technician at Grand Casinos, your primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair kitchen equipment, ensuring that their installation and operation comply with relevant building codes and company policies and procedures.

What You Get to Do

• Respond promptly to daily work orders and service requests.
• Keep kitchen equipment operating safely and efficiently, in compliance with all health codes.
• Maintain various kitchen equipment, including but not limited to Rational, Alto-Sham, Frymaster, Hobart, Henny Penny, Baxter Oven, and other types.
• Keep accurate documentation and records of maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.
• Strictly adhere to OSHA safety regulations.
• Proficiently read and interpret schematics and wire diagrams.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting and read fine print.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
• Provide training to staff on the safe operation of equipment when necessary.
• Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
• Interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
• Occasionally relocate equipment and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to ensure compliance with fire safety codes.
• Be physically capable of climbing ladders, lifting up to 75 lbs., kneeling, sitting for extended periods, working in adverse conditions and weather, and learning and utilizing basic computer programs for record keeping, parts ordering, and communication.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

What Qualifies You

• 2-year vocational tech and 2 years on the job experience or 4 years related experience.
• Ability to secure a license from the Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
• A commitment to following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR's).
• Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be considered in the hiring process.

Must Have Skills

• A understanding of kitchen equipment, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair both electrical and mechanical issues, and read schematics and wire diagrams.
• Experience in equipment maintenance and the development of preventative maintenance programs.
• A deep understanding of OSHA safety rules and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
• The ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs., kneel, sit for extended periods, and work in adverse conditions and weather elements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with guests and associates in a courteous and professional manner.
