SUMMARY OF THE CASINO CAGE SHIFT MANAGER:

Responsible for assisting the Cage/Credit Director in ensuring that all accounting activities in the Cage/Credit Division of the Finance Department are performed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions, and established policies, procedures and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assists Director of Cage and Cage Manager with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, which enable the Cage Division of the Finance Department to function more effectively.
  • Access funds and ensures prompt distribution to appropriate areas of property.
  • Processes all Keno cash transactions. Follows proper procedures pertaining to sale and payout of tickets.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels in the Cage/Credit Division of the Finance Department, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining and terminating employees, as needed.
  • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by employees under his/her span of control.
  • Monitors all financial activities on property, which relate to Cage/Credit, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the property, the Federal and State Tax Commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the property.
  • Assists with the coordination of audits relating to bank boards, guest deposits and rotation logs.
  • Assists the Cage/Credit Supervisors in understanding the complexities of their responsibilities within the department.
  • Reviews departmental reports, to ensure accuracy, making revisions as needed.
  • Ensures a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction, with respect to the Cage/Credit operation, is achieved and maintained.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all employees under his/her span of control.
  • Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises the Cage Supervisors and indirectly supervises the activities of all employees in Cage/Credit.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in banking and finance, accounting or related area, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three (3) years in accounting, preferably in banking operations, required. 
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. 
  • Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate. Minimum of one (1) year supervisory/managerial experience required.
  • This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to write effective reports and memos. Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests. Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
