Upon completion of the announced merger with The Queen Casino & Entertainment Inc. Queen will also add over 900 employees, and operations that currently include approximately 2,400 slot machines, 50 table games, and 150 hotel rooms to the Bally’s portfolio. Bally’s will also become the successor of Queen’s significant economic stake in a global lottery management and services business through its investment in Intralot S.A. (ATSE: INLOT).

The Role

As the Manager – Employee Relations, you will support all aspects of labor relations and employee relations.

Responsibilities
  • Foster an environment that embodies Bally’s Born to Entertain philosophy by creating a fun-filled, entertaining atmosphere
  • Enthusiastically promote Bally’s customer-centric culture of offering superior guest service and actively building long-lasting guest relations
  • Responsible for interpretation and application of the company’s established policies and procedures with regarding employee relations matters. Review all written documentation to insure fair and consistent application of the policy
  • Liaison with team members (coaching) and managers when appropriate.
  • Responds to unemployment insurance notices
  • Conducts team member relation investigations and partnering with leadership on performance improvement documentation
  • Ensures department adheres to all regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with timely notification to IGB of all employment separations and monthly EEO-1 report for new-hires.
  • Assist department leadership with all FMLA/LOA requests
  • Partner with leadership regarding engagement surveys results to create an action plan
  • Monitors monthly turn over reports. Take action to decrease turn over and maintain retention goals.
  • Monitors department standards, guidelines, and objectives
  • Reviews and analyzes any grievances filed with HR and partners with senior leadership to create resolution
  • Takes a lead role in the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure that such policies and procedures embrace the company's employee relation’s philosophies and that they are executed consistently, fairly and equitably.
  • Consults with legal and senior leadership to interpret employment laws, (FLSA, EEOC, etc.) for application to specific employee relations situations
  • Assists in team member programs and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in employee & labor relations is mandatory
  • Casino industry experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelors Degree and or work experience equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in regards to employee/labor relation situations
  • Strong administrative, organizational and decision making abilities
  • Ability to lead, influence without authority and coach for success
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary Illinois State Gaming licensing
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

    Bally's Chicago will be located in the city's River West neighborhood on the bank of the North Branch of the Chicago River, near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street.

    The first phase of the new casino hotel resort is slated to cost $1 billion. It will include 2,700 slot machines, 95 table games, a suite-only hotel, with 100 suites. There will also be an outdoor music venue with space for 1,000 people.

    The subsequent expansion of Bally's Chicago is projected to provide a total of 4,000 gaming seats with a new 400 room hotel, a 3000 seat indoor venue, and a 20,000 sq. ft. exhibition space.

    The permanent location will include a 3,000 seat theater, an extension of the Chicago Riverwalk, pedestrian bridge, six restaurants, a food hall, and room for 3,400 slots and 173 game tables.

    The corporation has a plan to retrofit the former warehouse at the current Tribune plant in order to serve as a temporary casino while the casino is being built. Bally's Temporary Casino will be located at 600 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60611.

    The temporary facility located at 600 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL, will initially provide 33,000 square feet of gaming space accommodating 1000 gaming patrons. There will be two bars & cocktail lounges, a food service bar and a Grab N Go Kiosk.
