Scope of work:

Under the direction of the Marketing Manager and within the Guidelines of the Sherwood Valley Gaming Commission, the Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for Marketing the Casino and liaison with other department managers.  Provides leadership for, Advertising, Promotional and Player’s Club programs. Ensures and facilitates the timely development, execution, delivery and dissemination of marketing materials, collateral and direct mail.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, manage and coordinate marketing programs, which will increase the revenue of Sherwood Valley Casino and enhance the growth of its customer base within the gaming industry.
  • Prepare all submissions to the Gaming Commission for approval; communicate programs to Department Managers, Team Members, Casino Guests and community.
  • Coordinate all advertising, special events and other promotional programs.
  • Adhere to the department marketing budget to ensure a profitable fiscal year.
  • Assist with policies and procedures for the Marketing Department.
  • Understands all policies and procedures, minimum internal controls standards, title 31, and all other applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate and assist with implementation special events and promotions as directed by the Marketing Manager.
  • Manage and coordinate all public relations and media aspects of the SVR Casino.
  • Review all advertising campaigns, including radio, television, outdoor and print advertisements. Assure the timely production and delivery of advertisements, assuring deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Manager and General Manager when dealing with the media regarding any public relations issues.
  • Assure the timely production and delivery of all direct-mail collateral, assuring deadlines are met.
  • Maintain all files and records.
  • Assist in the creation of promotional materials, direct-mail, advertisements, promotional calendars, update website and casino social-media sites.
  • Create and/or proofread radio and newspaper advertisements as well as all digital advertisements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors. Monitor vendor relationships to ensure the Marketing Department is receiving the best product, service, and costs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the community.
  • Fosters and maintains a positive attitude toward staff and management.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Ensures confidentiality in all Casino matters.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Ability to interact well with others.  Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literate, (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Access, Microsoft Word).
  • Must be tactful, discrete, and confidential.
  • Overall compliance with Casino’s policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. 
  • At least three (3) years’ experience or training in Marketing functions required; casino marketing experience highly desired.
  • Must have knowledge of basic office administration, management, computer skills and basic math.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Sherwood Valley Gaming Commission.
  • Must sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Must agree to submit to random drug testing.
  • Agree to refrain from all forms of gambling at the Sherwood Valley Casino.

Work Environment:

In the entertainment industry one may be subject to a fast pace work environment containing excessive noise, smoke, and stress.
