JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:  Player Development/Casino Host Manager

DEPARTMENT:  Player Development

REPORTS TO:  Director of Player Development

SPAN OF CONTROL:  Executive Casino Host, Casino Host, VIP Services Agent

KEYS:  Executive Office, Marketing areas

ACCESS TO:  Executive Offices, Pavilion and Casino

FLSA:  Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for management of the Host / VIP staff in Player Development. Acquires, retains, reactivates and initiates an increase of play from high-end slot and table guests through personal and professional contact. Provides an exceptionally high quality of service to all guests in accordance with established marketing strategies and internal controls. Supports the Player Development functions. Practices the Rising Star Core Values of Commitment, Integrity and Excellence.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the Host/VIP staff.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with VIP guests.
  • Represent the casino at on and off-property events.
  • Utilizes on property staff to resolve any problems in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate all functions of the Player Development Department with the Director of Player Development.
  • Assist the Director of Player Development to implement and streamline procedures and processes.
  • Meet set goals for special events, advance hotel reservations and new player sign-ups.
  • Complete the reporting of department personnel goals, both individual and team, and coordinate with the Director of Player Development and the Director of Marketing.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop employees to be effective supervisors and outstanding representatives of RSCR.
  • Provide complimentary amenities to guests who attained the necessary level of play.
  • Facilitate effective management of marketing information throughout the department and casino.
  • Maintain strong communication and coordination efforts with all company departments to achieve proper yield management and successful logistics.
  • Assist with credit application processes.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the casino facility and current and upcoming events on property; advise guests and employees.
  • Provide service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.

Job Qualifications:

Experience Required: 

  • Five or more years’ experience in a casino comping system.
  • Business management and operation experience preferred.
  • Proven strong customer service and casino industry experience.

Education Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree and a minimum of 2 years related experience and or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:

  • Ability to lead, motivate, direct and inspire casino host and player development staff.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel programs, ACSC system knowledge, good organizational skills, ability to accurately perform data entry.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and calmly; skillful problem solver, strong casino industry knowledge, and prior hosting knowledge.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

  • Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License - Level 2.

  • Must be able to apply superior service quality characteristics – courteous, prompt, professional, and confidential.
  • Professional appearance and presentation.
  • Ability to use sound judgment, make quick decisions and deal with difficult guests.
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations.
