If you've ever wanted to be the "eye in the sky" this opportunity is for you! A Surveillance Operator observes all casino activities from a visual monitoring system to identify, record & document illegal and unusual activities occurring in the casino slot, table games, cage & money handling areas.

The Surveillance Operator is responsible for the video monitoring of all vital areas within the confines of the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Candidate will maintain strict adherence to the confidentiality of all departmental and property information.
  • Candidate will maintain close observation on all casino activities from the monitoring system.
  • Property internal controls and standard operating procedures will dictate many activities that the operator will need to review and perform on their shift. The operator will be required to perform those duties as assigned.
  • Candidate will utilize necessary equipment to identify, record and document illegal and unusual activities occurring in the casino slot areas, table games areas, cage areas, and other money handling facilities.
  • Candidate will report all illegal and unusual activities to the supervisor on duty or other appropriate agencies and authorities as necessary.
  • Candidate will know all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations, as well as property internal controls and standard operating procedures
  • Any applicant who has a family member or cohabitates with an individual employed by Terre Haute Casino Resort will not be considered.
    Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. 

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must possess intermediate PC skills.  Microsoft Office products experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Candidate must be able to work all days and shifts on short notice. Candidate will be exposed to smoke when on the casino floor.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee will be required to sit for extended periods of time.  Employee must be able to talk and hear in order to ensure proper communication.  This job requires strong vision skills, including close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
