Lead Landscaper

Reporting to the Supervisor Landscape, the Lead Landscaper, TGO will maintain the integrity of the department by ensuring all Landscaper, TGO are properly trained and that all safety standards are strictly adhered to. The Lead Landscape, TGO will also be responsible for assessing and maintaining the San Manuel Indian Reservation as well as other San Manuel properties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Performs Landscaper, TGO duties throughout the San Manuel properties such as landscaping, housekeeping, and maintenance on an as needed basis

2. Operates all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks such as, tractors, hand tools and mowing machines; trains Landscaper, TGO on proper usage and safety constraints.

3. Leads, trains, and mentors Landscaper, TGO regarding duties including but not limited to; landscape repair, maintenance and erosion control

4. Instructs Team Members regarding proper work standards; monitors work for quality and ensures adherence to deadlines and time schedules; provides appropriate feedback and input throughout the day

5. Prioritizes projects and assigns work tasks to Landscaper, TGO; assists with projects as needed

6. Cleans and removes debris and waste from the San Manuel Indian Reservation as well as other San Manuel properties.

7. Must be available for “on call” services in the event of a natural disaster, emergency, or events.

8. Performs basic maintenance activities and ensures all maintenance vehicles are clean and in good repair.

9. Ensures cleanliness and orderliness in all shop areas and assigned truck/vehicle.

10. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required. 

  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience working within a housekeeping, maintenance or landscape environment required. 

  • Experience utilizing and moving landscape/construction equipment necessary. 

  • Some knowledge in landscape construction such as; removing building walls, paver walks and drives; hardscapes and pond building preferred. 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
