Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Executive Director STGC.  Responsible for processing STGC Gaming Licenses for employees and vendors based on set criteria established by the NIGC and the Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission.    Maintains computer data files on employees and vendor licenses and clerical support activities for the Pueblo of Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Executive Director STGC.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Processes on a timely basis employee and vendor license application data.
  2. Reviews forms, and documents for completeness and accuracy.
  3. Researches, gathers, and organizes information from a variety of resources, into draft format and type’s letters, memos, correspondence, and forwarding to the N.I.G.C., Governor, Tribal Council, and others as necessary.
  4. Assesses and makes initial determination of the license suitability of employees and vendors and makes recommendations to the Executive Director STGC.
  5. Coordinates fingerprint schedules and typing out fingerprint cards.
  6. Types and distributes employee temporary gaming license.
  7. Explains office procedures, departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
  8. Establishes, maintains, and oversees the security of confidential and general office files.
  9. Reviews, revises, and updates existing employee license information and reporting systems.
  10. Maintains effective internal working relationships with license applicants, casino management, employees, and Tribal government.
  11. Performs additional duties or responsibilities as necessary or assigned

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  1. Ability to understand licensing and reporting requirements.
  2. Ability to assist in the development and implementation of vendor and employee license reporting systems.
  3. Ability to work under pressure, overtime, irregular hours and weekends as required.
  4. Knowledge of gaming licensing requirements desirable.
  5. Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  6. Knowledge of word processing-spreadsheet application and processing data in a MIS system.
  7. Knowledge of text insertion, deletion, and editing functions of a word processing system.
  8. Ability to apply basic organizational development skills, type and use standard office equipment.
  9. Ability to understand oral and written instructions.

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  2. Two (2) years or more experience in a general office capacity. 
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.

Preferred

  1. Experience or education in Data Processing, English or related field

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors.
  2. Work is performed in a lighted, heated, and ventilated area.
  3. Work is performed during the week.  Some weekend or evening work may be required.
  4. Subject to hazards such as common cold, influenza, smoke, fumes, and odors.
  5. Tasks are performed on carpeted, flat, and hard surfaces.
  6. Duties may involve walking, standing, sitting, and crouching.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:  (25 lbs. Maximum)
    • Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry
    • Arms-twist, reach
    • Legs-lift, twist
    • Hands-grasp, finger dexterity, eye and hand coordination.
