The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Hospitality Operations Intern to join our team at Niagara Falls State Park in Niagara Falls, New York.

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student seeking an internship in a fast-paced, inclusive environment with real-world learning opportunities? Delaware North internships are paid and can be completed for academic credit. Summer internship dates typically span 10-14 weeks between: May-Septmeber

Pay

$18.00 – $18.00 / hour

What will you do?

  • Assist with receiving and distribution of retail merchandise
  • Work with the Retail Manager and Assistant Manager on novelty buying
  • Coordinate merchandise orders for client and guest needs
  • Maintain and replenish the jersey lettering program as needed
  • Assist with the inventory process
  • Operate as a supervisor and assist with training of retail operation standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding of the inventory control process from start to finish
  • Comprehension of inventory management and buying process
  • Learn how to build client/guest relationships
  • Gain perspective of multi-location retail operations and hospitality operations

More about you

  • Pursuing a Degree in Retail or Hospitality Management program preferred
  • Strong understanding of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift, pull, hold up to 50 pounds
