Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a full-time Catering Operations Supervisor to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As Catering Operations Supervisor, you will work under the direction of the department manager to ensure effective operations of all event spaces, including training and supervision of catering team members.

What will you do?

  • Work with management team to train and supervise Front of House catering associates and observe job performance.
  • Utilize Banquet Event Order (BEO) to confirm proper event set up.
  • Ensure all food presentations and displays meet company standards.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and reports any violations.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Fulfill guests needs quickly and efficiently, handle complaints effectively
  • Assist team with monthly inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

More about you

  • Must be 21 years old and have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of catering experience in a hotel, full-service restaurant, catering facility, or club environment required.
  • Must have supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and able to follow job procedures and manager instructions.
  • Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and courteously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good leadership and training skills; ability to teach others as well as delegate tasks.
  • Good communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with guests, and retain and communicate menu information and service preferences.
  • Basic math and computer skills; ability to accurately account for cash and inventory.
  • Ability to work varied schedules including nights and weekends as events demand.
  • Must have ServSafe Certification or be able to obtain it within 30 days of employment.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds for set-up, service, and clean-up.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire length of shift, including walking up and down stairs and lifting as the work duties demand.
  • Ability to work in variable outdoor temperatures required.
