As a participant in the Delaware North CHEFS program, we want to give you all the tools to become a Sous Chef and one of our future culinary leaders! This program will support your culinary career progression through on-the-job training, mentoring, and continuous learning activities.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $49,500 – $66,800 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?

  • Work with Chef mentor to develop culinary and leadership skills
  • Attend all training sessions and be an active participant
  • Follow supervisor’s assignments for opening and closing procedures, as well as food production.
  • Prepare food and beverage products for customers by following recipe guidelines, using proper preparation techniques, and sanitation guidelines
  • Set up and operation of kitchen equipment
  • Clean equipment properly according to correct procedures
  • Keep workstation clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and management

More about you

  • AOS Culinary or bachelor’s degree from an accredited culinary school
    • OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an independent commercial kitchen
    • OR 1 year in a Delaware North kitchen
  • ServSafe Food Handlers Certification or completion of certification within 30 days of acceptance to the program
  • Must have a strong work ethic, sense of ownership and a determination to achieve success
    • Purposeful, desire to learn and continuously improve the art and craft hospitality and culinary
    • Humble, willing to ask for help, acknowledge others in your success, be approachable and empathic, and accept constructive feedback
    • Resilient, adaptable, and open to peer and mentor support
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and motivational skills and the desire to be part of a culinary team where everyone contributes

  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
