Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Billy the Kid Casino is a unique mix of old and new. Starting in the 1930s in Mr. Miller’s cornfields, racing at Ruidoso Downs has had a long tradition of great racing and unique events. It is the only horse track in the United States and Europe that has separate quarter horse straightaway and oval thoroughbred tracks giving our spectators a unique venue.

Nestled in the cool pines of New Mexico, the track offers world-class racing in a down-home environment. During the summer months, we offer live quarter horse and thoroughbred racing every weekend. Our meet runs May – September with the running of the World’s Richest Quarter Horse Race the All American Futurity running on Labor Day. Simulcast wagering is available every day throughout the year. We also offer a slots-only casino featuring many of the hottest games available.
