Summary
This position is responsible for preparation of daily reports, journals for entry, reconciliations of balance sheet items, reconciliation of invoices received for requests of payment from external business partners. The Senior Staff Accountant will ensure controls are in place to comply with processes as stated in the SOPs and Internal Controls.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing and adhering to best practices in General Ledger Accounting department
- Communicates with company personnel and customers to ensure account records are accurate and complete.
- Oversee departmental projects as requested from management team
- Assist with reviews and preparation of journal entries at the property level
- Assist with reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to be sure property team is knowledgeable of recorded balances
- Research/Investigate vendor invoicing to ensure the accuracy of the account reporting and safeguard the assets of the company
- Assists the Controller and Director of Finance in assuring timely responses to internal and external audit requests and recommendations.
- Assist the Controller and Director of Finance in establishing and maintaining strong accounting controls enough to ensure compliance with the regulation and mandates of all governing bodies, both internal and external.
- Notifies management team of any potential discrepancies and assists with research and resolution of problems.
- Politely gives consistent, timely and accurate information and finds answer when unsure.
- Adhere to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual filing and task schedules.
- Maintains upbeat, positive attitude, friendly and helpful demeanor, positive energy and enthusiasm from one interaction to the next.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures and multi-tasking.

Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, with a major in Finance or Accounting preferred. 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must register and maintain registration as a gaming employee in the State of Nevada pursuant to NRS 463.335.
Language Skills
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English to guests and other employees. Ability to articulate effective correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and employees.
Mathematical Skills
Strong mathematical and strong aptitude for accurate record keeping. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Computer Skills
Must be able to use Microsoft Office products or any other Information Tech platform associated with the job duties. Must be able to operation a 10key by touch.
