Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the budget for the Security department, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
• Oversee the overall performance of the Security team, maintaining high standards of safety and security.
• Provide protection and ensure the safety of guests and team members across all areas of operation.
• Assist in the recruitment, development, and retention of team members, including conducting interviews, coaching, and managing the hiring and termination processes.
• Regularly review staffing levels to ensure alignment with budgeted employment needs.
• Collaborate with departmental directors and managers as needed to address operational and security concerns.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, fostering community involvement and cooperation.
• Manage and implement the property’s emergency and disaster response plans.
• Oversee programs designed to prevent underage individuals from accessing gaming areas.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the Security department.

Standards of Performance:

• Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities in directing a Security department.
• Ability to maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with all personnel.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including gaming laws, Innkeeper Laws, ABC control regulations, OSHA, and Health Department guidelines.
• Excellent public relations and customer service skills.
• Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to take full responsibility for the department’s performance, working flexible hours, and managing high-pressure situations and deadlines effectively.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Four to seven years of experience in security, with expertise in investigations, surveillance, and patron/property liability within high-volume businesses or industries.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in opening new operations or locations is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a valid Racing License
