Under the direction of the Supervisor, Food & Beverage, the Food Server is responsible for delivering accurate, responsible, and efficient service to guests. While adhering to the Yaamava’ Brand Standards, this position ensures exceptional dining experiences by delivering prompt and courteous service to guests. Involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. Works closely with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain a seamless flow of service and uphold the standards of cleanliness, quality and hospitality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serves and assists diners with their food orders, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Carries plates of food for customers with disabilities, providing welcoming and efficient service. Takes beverage orders as guests are seated, delivers drinks promptly and accurately, and offers refills as necessary to maintain guest satisfaction.
2. Removes empty plates as guests revisit the buffet lines, ensuring a tidy dining area. Replenishes tableware as needed to maintain a seamless dining experience. Always keeps trays clean and ready for use, ensuring efficiency during busy period(s).
3. Maintains cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the immediate workspace and adjacent areas. Cleans and resets tables after guests leave, ensuring tabletops, chair seats, and the surrounding floor area are free of debris. Disposes of all refuse accumulated during the assigned shift, including boxes. Keeps walkways clear of any debris, ensuring cleanliness of floor as needed. Washes and dries all serving trays to ensure they are ready for use.
4. Ensures that stations are fully stocked with condiments, plastic ware, coffee, and other necessary items, maintaining a well-organized and efficient setup. Restocks ice bins at the start of shift and continuously during operations as needed to ensure a steady supply.5. Assists with special projects as directed by the Supervisor including, monthly meetings, special banquets, concerts, and special guests. Notifies leader on duty of any problems or concerns.6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) months of related experience and/or training required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely.
- Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues.
- Must be able to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members.
- Must be able to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s).
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card.
