Job Overview

The Soft Count Attendant must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the gaming operation and is responsible for adequately and accurately handling currency transactions. Must be competent, dependable, and trustworthy.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collects slot cash storage boxes from the slot floor in compliance with Internal Controls and State Rule.
  • Opens, counts and records poker room drop boxes and jackpot drop boxes in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Sorts, counts straps and records the contents of slot drop boxes according to approved procedures.
  • Compares information contained in slot drop boxes to data stored in the computer system.
  • Completes paperwork in accordance with internal controls.
  • Responsible for minor repairs and maintenance of soft count room equipment.
  • Notifies Count room manager of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Remains professional at all times while being efficient and effective.
  • All other duties assigned.

Job Requirements (Please Ensure You Meet The Listed Requirements Prior To Applying)

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Adding machine, currency counting machine and knowledge of computer terminal preferred.
  • Ability to “cut” and count gaming chips.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate occupational license(s).
  • Basic mechanical (repair) ability helpful.
  • Prior money handling experience preferred.
  • Team work skills are a must.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat and kneel for extended period of time.
  • Must be able and willing to lift objects heavier than 5 lbs. and to push heavy carts through the casino floor.

Magic City Casino

PCI Gaming Authority has purchased Magic City CasinoThe property includes a license to operate slot machines, poker, and electronic casino games in Miami. 

PCI, owned by the Alabama-based Poarch Band of Creek Indians, purchased the property from the Havenick family, which has owned the site since the 1950s. 

The 305,624-square-foot casino is located southeast of Miami International Airport at 450 NW 37th Avenue. 

The casino property sits on 30 acres. Wind Creek Hospitality, a subsidiary of PCI, plans to redevelop the site into a luxury resort adjacent to the casino.
