Job Title:    Information Technology Manager             Department: Information Technologies

Reports To:           General Manager          FLSA Status:   Exempt         

Hybrid – Onsite/ Remote

Responsible for directing and coordinating Information Technology activities through subordinates; overseeing and managing a company's information technology projects. Coordinates project phases from development to installation. Must be Microsoft Certified and have a working knowledge of casino Software (or similar) software applications & Casino Management Systems (Konami; IGT; etc..) . 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Consults with management to determine information requirements of management and user needs to determine boundaries and priorities of new projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
  • Confers with department heads involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define nature of project.  Checks mainframe computer system malfunctions with the operators and uses a more extensive knowledge of computer operations in diagnosing and restarting the system.
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of IT Technician.
  •  Directs the receipt and diagnosis of equipment problems including repair, building of cables, replacement of boards and computer components to identify or remedy failures.
  • Works directly with other Department Managers to ensure user needs are being addressed through system development.  Directs the preparation and installation of network software.  Diagnose and resolve any network software problems. 
  • Prepares progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals
  • Contracts with management specialists, technical personnel, or vendors to solve problems.  Revises computer operating schedule to introduce new program testing and operating runs.
  • Analyzes department workflow to recommend reorganization or departmental realignment within company.  Manages the training of users in the basic operation and maintenance of computers and related components.
  • Assists staff to facilitate solutions to computer equipment, system and software problems.
  • Manages all telecommunications needs and works with staff to ensure appropriate equipment and services are in place, including cellular service, paging, long distance, high speed data lines.
  • Develops and maintains computer system operating schedules; analyzes computer systems and operating problems to utilize equipment and personnel effectively.
  •  Determines appropriate reload and backup procedures for databases, and monitors and records impact of aborted jobs on database and data communication files.
  • Develop requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedulers for information technology projects.
  • Oversee all phases of project from conception to completion.
  • Assist with upgrading information security.
  • Manages and Trains IT Staff.
  • Ensure project is completed within budget and on time.
  • Follow IT standards to manage projects through the project lifecycles of initiation, planning, execution and closure.
  • Develop project tracking and variance reports.
  • Assemble risk management plans.
  • Create project documentation.
  • Manage multiple vendors.
  • Utilize in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to design and implement secure solutions to meet customer/client needs while protecting the Casino’s assets.
  • Develop security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises IT technician in Information Technology Department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year college degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must Have Supervisory/Management experience.
  • Casino IT experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able obtain and maintain a Gaming license issued by the Tribal Gaming Agency; State of CA Tribal Key employee license (If applicable).  CNA (Certified Network Administrator), Microsoft Certification;
