BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):

The primary duty of the Slot Tech I is to maintain normal operations of Slot VLT equipment.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests, report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
• Perform routine maintenance, equipment repair or exchange
• Perform VLT jackpot verification
• Assure Title 31 compliance
• Monitor routine floor operations, perform preventive maintenance, complete service orders and support other departments with technical assistance as requested.
• Maintain knowledge of promotional events
• Access the VLT main door to observe game function, inspect game error codes, perform paper changes as required, clear paper jams and reset error codes
• This position may perform routine drop detail functions as scheduled
• Promote general casino activities and promotions including special events, advertised specials and marketing promotions for non-gaming areas.
• Act as support staff for Slot Ambassadors.
• Assist with casino equipment moves.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):

• Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
• This position requires the ability to safely work with hand operated and electric tools.
• 6-month repair or electronic maintenance skills are required, with emphasis on multi-tasking, personal organization and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• HS Diploma or GED required. Additional electronics training a plus.
• Teamwork, self-motivation and maintenance of confidentiality are expected on a daily basis.
• The Slot Tech I is expected to maintain an orderly work environment and comply with all required policies and procedures.
• Must have the ability to complete the Slot Technician Training Checklist within 90 days of employment.

Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally sit. This position requires the ability to perform a 150 two-man lift with intermediate frequency. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to secondhand smoke on a regular basis.
