Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Officer II - Security is to assist Officers I - Security in the performance of their job responsibilities as well as training related activities. Responds to situations throughout the property as requested and takes appropriate steps to rectify problems and at the same time minimize liability. Anticipates potential problems and seeks ways to prevent disruption, injuries, and prohibited conduct from occurring on company premises. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental, Wind Creek Bethlehem LLC (“Wind Creek”) and PGCB policies, practices, and procedures.

Position Responsibilities

  • Arrive for shift on time and in proper uniform.
  • Responsible for on the floor training of all Wind Creek Officers - Security on all assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate casino and non-gaming security activity providing assistance to Officers - Security and Management.
  • Dispatch Security Team Members as needed to perform details such as escorts and maintain key control.
  • Maintain daily logs, assign and generate reports, answer phones, and assist guests.
  • Responsible for documentation and storage of lost and found items.
  • Monitors CCTV camera systems, the fire alarm system, and makes all notifications regarding security incidents.
  • Organizes and coordinates personnel, equipment/resources and ensures effective and efficient handling of workload.
  • Create a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality training; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensures safety practices are followed, reports observed hazards and oversees or conducts investigations of guest and job-related accidents.
  • Inspects personnel, facilities and equipment; corrects irregularities and issues necessary security equipment to officers to assure completion of security duties and assignments.
  • Oversees or conducts continual training and development of Officers - Security to ensure they have the skills necessary to complete their duties and assignments.
  • Maintains a highly visible profile, monitoring/assisting Officers - Security in the field performing their assignments and frequently patrolling and inspecting hotel/event center facilities.
  • Handles guest complaints and disputes, notifying appropriate Supervisors/Managers and conducting further investigations as needed.
  • Ensures divisional/departmental compliance with Wind Creek’s customer service standards.
  • Properly use equipment, tools or systems to complete assigned tasks and complies with company safety standards.
  • Develop a working knowledge of any PGCB rules, regulations and Internal Controls applicable to your position.
  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with PGCB and approved Wind Creek standards.
  • Ensures compliance with Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board internal controls.
  • Read and understand Wind Creek’s Compulsive and Problem Gambling Plan with regards to how to conduct business in this position and specifically the regulations prohibiting service to minors and/or intoxicated persons.
  • Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers in compliance with Wind Creek’s customer service standards.
  • Adhere to and complies with both departmental and overall property policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental and overall property policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Employment Requirements

  • 18 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form.
  • Interpersonal skills with focused attention on guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Wind Creek appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to Wind Creek’s customer service standards.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements 

  • Minimum of twelve (12) months experience as a trained Wind Creek Officer - Security.
  • Must be proficient in Cyrun, Report Writing and CCTV usage. Familiarity with federal, state and local laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, interview witnesses and draft legible, factual reports.
  • Ability to react professionally and rationally to emergency and pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of general first aid and CPR.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner. Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Physical ability to access all areas of the property.
  • Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, variations in weather.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine etc.
  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to push and/or pull 200 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to qualify for, apply for and obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board license if required.
