Job Overview

The Cashier is responsible giving correct change, accurately counting and recording assigned funds, verifying and documenting personal information for all transactions. Cashiers are responsible for performing high volume cash and non-cash transactions with guests and team members in a courteous, accurate, and timely manner; compute all monetary transactions, maintains accurate transactions and auditable balancing practices. The beginning and end of shifts count down and balance amounts to the impress bank.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Superior guest service skills required.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the cashier window locations.
  • Must be proficient in working a poker cashier workstation.
  • Must be proficient in working a pari-mutuel teller station.
  • Perform duties of casino floor change attendant when required.
  • Prepares hand-paid jackpots through the Slot system, issues jackpots to Floor attendants.
  • Counts and organizes gaming chips to be exchanged for cash.
  • Verifies all funds at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Responsible for accurate completion of required forms.
  • Interacts with casino customers and is always pleasant and professional while being efficient and effective.
  • Assists in the training and development of fellow cashiers.
  • Ensures that all bank and window openings/closings are performed accurately, expeditiously and smoothly.
  • Prepares currency transactions reports and suspicious activity reports to ensure compliance with Federal Regulation.
  • Ensures that key control procedures are adhered to.
  • All other duties assigned.

Job Requirements (Please Ensure You Meet The Listed Requirements Prior To Applying)

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • General cashiering background or other acceptable money handling experience (casino or bank).
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license.
  • Ability to obtain a basic knowledge of State gaming regulations.
  • Must be familiar with operating a PC and currency counting equipment.
  • Must speak, read and write in English.
  • Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
  • Team work skills are a must.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
