Position Summary

Exchanges chips, coins, currency, tickets, and coupons with other Bankers and verifies settlements with Cage Cashiers. Verifies and prepares currency and coins for the ticket redemption kiosks and cash dispensers.  Verifies the check cashing and cash advance settlements from the Cage Cashiers. Oversees the activity of their assigned cage or vault.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Proficient and can perform all Cashier/Vault duties.
  2. Ensures strict adherence to Sandia Casino and Cage/Vault Department policies, procedures, and internal

controls.

  1. Ensures excellent customer service.
  2. Maintains necessary records and adhering to Title 31 and W2-G reporting procedures.
  3. Verifies and records the Cashier’s settlements includes; customer E-checks and paper checks, credit

and/or debit card cash advances.

  1. Verifies and records all incoming and disbursements of Jackpot Safekeeping.
  2. Operates self-service coin redemption machines and coin counters.
  3. Performs the daily drops and maintains the coin redemption machine.
  4. Verifies and maintains the inventory of promotional chips, when running cage.
  5. Ensures proper customer transactions, including cash/chip exchange and conversion.
  6. Opens and closes the cages and vault as necessary.
  7. Maintains adequate cash on hand while determining proper cash flows.
  8. Sells safe deposit boxes and logs customer’s usage.
  9. Verifies and records all cash sales from retail outlets.
  10. Prepares daily bank deposits for the casino.
  11. Prepares daily tip deposits for casino, food and beverage, resort and hotel employees.
  12. Sells and redeems gift certificates.
  13. Sells and records tournament entries.
  14. Records slot jackpot payouts.
  15. Maintains adequate wrapped, bagged, and racked reserves of currency, coin and chips.
  16. Verifies large cash, chip, and coin transfers daily.
  17. Forwards all paperwork for the assigned shift to the Revenue Audit Department.
  18. Ensures the proper flow of casino assets to each department as required.
  19. Oversees the activity of assigned Cage Cashiers.
  20. Verifies and safeguards the assigned bankroll.
  21. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.

   Education And Experience 

 Required

  1. High school diploma or GED Certification. 
  2. One (1) year casino cage cashiering experience preferred.
  3. Two (2) years’ cashiering experience required.
  4. Must be at least 21 years of age
  5. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. 1.  Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
