Under the direction of the Supervisor, Reservation Asset Protection, the Reservation Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for monitoring the security and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) security systems of the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation Reservation and any additional Tribal buildings, as assigned. This position serves the Tribe by continuously observing, reporting, recording, and documenting all unusual and suspicious occurrences or deviations that occur.The Reservation Asset Protection Specialist exhibits a Tribe First mentality and aligns themselves with the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conducts CCTV monitoring and surveillance of property-wide activities to detect any activity that may pose a risk to the Tribal Community.2. Documents all incidents and actions taken by providing specific details, clear reporting, and accurate data entry while maintaining the confidentiality of the Tribal Community Services department and Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation.3. Performs additional tasks such as answering telephone calls and monitor radio communication traffic, collecting information and logging pertinent information by utilizing reporting and video management software.4. Collaborates and maintains excellent communication with Tribal operations and Tribal Community Services management to gather pertinent information and investigate criminal activity, injuries or illness claims/reports or safety risks.5. Sends notifications and requests to the Surveillance department to ensure archiving of incidents captured on video.6. Maintains the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism beyond reproach. 7. Maintains working knowledge of Tribal Community Services internal controls, policies and procedures.8. Performs camera checks and inputs work orders or malfunction forms, and reports any other problems related to surveillance equipment.9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred.
Minimum two (2) years of surveillance experience or related field is required.
Experience working in a Tribal Government is highly preferred.
Experience working in Genetec and/or iTrak systems are highly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Must possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), commercial database systems, and internet research skills.
Ability to multi-task, lead and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrate functional, technical or behavioral competencies (critical thinking, collaboration, teamwork, results orientation, communication, building relationships, accountability, integrity, customer service, problem solving)
Be flexible with daily and weekly schedule based on departmental operational needs.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Select One of the Following for Driving Responsibilities: Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
