ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public, San Manuel employees and Tribal Citizens while maintaining confidential information. Administers emergency medical care to treat patients; performs Advance Life Support (ALS). 2. Works 48-Hour shifts and overtime; may be recalled or held on duty according to the response needs of the Fire Department. 3. Responds to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous material situations and other emergency/non-emergency calls to protect life and property endangered. 4. Performs all firefighter duties; lays and connects hoses; directs water streams in the control and extinguishing of fires in structures, brush and grass; uses forcible entry tools, bars, hooks, ladders, extinguishers and other equipment. 5. Participates in fire prevention programs and inspections to enforce fire prevention codes and ordinances.6. Performs as a Paramedic under approved medical protocols; department SOP’s and clinical standards of care. Operates a two-way radio to communicate with the communications center. 7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
• Principles and practices of fire suppression and prevention.• Principles and practices of emergency medical care.• Operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment.• Safety practices and precautions pertaining to emergency services.• Ability to learn local streets, fire alarms, fire hydrants, public and local government buildings, and local hazards.• Read and understand departmental policies, rules, regulations and instructions to include: fire prevention & suppression literature and emergency medical care instructions.• Communicates clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, with proper spelling, grammar and punctuation. • Analyze situations and adopt a quick, effective and responsible course of action.• Basic knowledge of computers and programs to include MS Office, PowerPoint and Outlook.• Establish intravenous and intraosseous access, place basic and advanced airway adjuncts and perform other advanced medical skills.• Correctly interpret and identify static and dynamic cardiac rhythms, the appropriate medications, dosages and electrical therapies to treat dysrhythmias and other medical conditions.

Consistently demonstrates personal ownership for cleanliness and maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards within the department, facility and all Tribal owned properties. Consistently demonstrates concern for personal safety and the safety of guests, vendors and other team members by immediately addressing or reporting all unsafe acts and/or conditions.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
• At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.• Select One of the Following:
- ☒ Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
- ☐ Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.
- ☐ No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
REQUIRED:• EMT-P (Must be valid in State of California).• California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certification or at time of appointment be a firefighter academy graduate with task book. • Valid ICEMA accreditation as an EMT-P upon appointment.• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).• Current AHA CPR Healthcare Provider or equivalent.• Annual continuing medical education sufficient to maintain active licensing and accreditation.• Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational (CSTI or equivalent).• ICS 100-Introduction to ICS, ICS 200-Basic ICS.• IS 700 NIMS: An Introduction.• Must furnish upon initial employment with San Manuel Fire Department, proof of successful completion of any California recognized physical ability test (Biddle, CPAT, or any other recognized PAT) within the last twelve (12) months).
PREFERRED:• Fire Control III and Fire Control VII.• S 190.• Driver/Operator 1A.• One (1) year experience as a firefighter (Career, Volunteer, or PCF).• Hazardous Materials IC, ASO, WMD IQ, Tech and/or Decon.
