Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Shift Manager and higher-ranking officials, the Security Supervisor performs all levels of Security supervisory management and exercises essential daily Security operations. The Security Supervisor responds to all emergency incidents. The Security Supervisor is responsible for providing security and protection for assets, persons, buildings and/or property, within the Casino by enforcing the rules and regulations along with the policies and procedures and providing excellent customer service utilizing the Tesuque Proud Guest Service Standards. The Security Supervisor assumes the duties of Incident Commander as required.
Note: Native American preference will be given.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide a secure environment for guests, employees, administration and the general public.
- Provide a pleasant experience for guests utilizing the Tesuque Proud Guest Service Standards.
- Protect records, assets, merchandise, and equipment of the Casino.
- Participate in daily security operations by being alert and observant at all times.
- Patrol the Casino on a regular basis either by foot or mobile patrol.
- Exercise proper currency and escort procedures.
- Prepare routine incident reports on employees, guests or other related incidents.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Take control of or provide support in emergency situations.
- Meet the public tactfully and courteously by answering questions in person and over the telephone.
- Responds to all emergencies as required.
- Attain and retain working knowledge of Casino’s Internal Controls, Security’s Policies and Procedures, Gaming and interdepartmental policies and procedures.
- Promote the highest degree of quality customer service, both internally and externally.
- Investigate all unusual or suspicious activities/incidents.
- Monitors and reviews all incident reports for proper content and completeness.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:
- GED or high school diploma required.
- Must have three (3) years of Security, Military, Law Enforcement or qualifying experience.
- Must have three (3) years in supervisory and/or leadership role.
- First aid/CPR Certified.
- Must have strong organizational, communication, human relations and decision-making skills.
- Must be computer-literate.
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be a creative problem solving.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent follow through.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to function successfully in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform essential security duties including first aid/CPR.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent follow through.

- Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including holidays, nights and weekends.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, and obtain and maintain gaming license from the Pueblo of Tesuque Gaming Commission.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Conduct work performance appraisals/interviews and make recommendations for advancement.
- Initiates post scheduling and delegating responsibilities among officers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Security Officers in the Security Department during their shift, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The supervisor provides guidance and assistance in addressing unusual situations that may arise, particularly those without clear precedents or requiring interpretation of policies and regulations.
Following initial training, the Security Supervisor is expected to perform duties independently, demonstrating proficiency and autonomy in task execution. Regular spot checks are conducted to evaluate accuracy, adequacy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and policies.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee occasionally is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will be required to talk for extended periods and must be able to hear and understand. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds. The work environment includes a variety of settings, such as: gaming machines, food, oils, and hot surfaces. The incumbent occasionally exposed to loud noise, change in temperatures, and second-hand smoke.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Due to the nature and scope of this position, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
