Position Summary
Reports directly to the Shift Manager and is responsible for the operation of their assigned pit during assigned shift having supervisory authority over all personnel in assigned pit. They are responsible for adhering to this System of Internal Controls and federal cash reporting requirements. Has the ability to sign Request for Fill/Credit slips, table opener/closer, temporary opener/closer and federal cash reporting documents. The Shift Manager or above may authorize the Pit Boss to sign for complimentary and promotional items. The Pit Boss has access to the pit podium, pit area, table banks, and cards and dice in play.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees total operation of the assigned pit areas.
- Communicates information to incoming Pit Boss and Casino Shift Manager.
- Complies with all dealing procedures.
- Ensures maximum game protection.
- Responsible for dealing rotations.
- Protects all sensitive equipment, (Cards, dice, shoes, etc.).
- Assigns supervisors to proper areas.
- Ensures strict compliance with Sandia Casino System of Internal Controls.
- Trains and helps develop supervisor’s skills.
- Responsible for all attendance tracking.
- Counsels and works with employees on procedural problems.
- Provides excellence in customer service and ensures the same of all employees.
- Assists Shift Manager in completing all managerial duties.
- Deals effectively with customer problems/complaints.
- Maintains proper banks for all games within the assigned pit area.
- Initiates disciplinary action involving pit employees as necessary.
- Serves as a role model for subordinates.
- Assists with tournaments and promotions.
- Makes “gray area” decisions.
- Schedules and conducts briefings for employees.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provides immediate supervision to non-exempt and potentially exempt Team Members and serves in a role where reporting Team Members gain support, feedback, and guidance in their performance of all duties.
- Sets business parameters and delegates day-to-day tasks to achieve operational objectives.
- Ensures policy, procedures and practices are followed.
- Creates an environment of teamwork, through communicating common goals, and shows appreciation for Team Members contributions and on-going support.
- Supports leadership in lower-level management responsibilities and administrative duties to include mentorship, training, counseling, scheduling, etc.
- Attends Human Resources needs and may interview qualified candidates and recommends the selection of a qualified candidate as directed by leadership.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Education And Experience
Required
- High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
- Three (3) years’ experience in casino Table Games including one (1) year in supervision and/or administration.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
License/Certifications/Registrations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
