With 10,600 employees, the Company’s casino operations include approximately 15,300 slot machines, 580 table games, and 3,800 hotel rooms. Bally’s also has rights to developable land in Las Vegas post the closure of the Tropicana.
Upon completion of the announced merger with The Queen Casino & Entertainment Inc. (“Queen”), the above portfolio is expected to be supplemented with four additional casinos across three states, one of which will be an additional state that expands Bally’s jurisdiction of operations to include the state of Iowa. Queen will also add over 900 employees, and operations that currently include approximately 2,400 slot machines, 50 table games, and 150 hotel rooms to the Bally’s portfolio. Bally’s will also become the successor of Queen’s significant economic stake in a global lottery management and services business through its investment in Intralot S.A. (ATSE: INLOT).
The Role
Acts as direct liaison between Surveillance Room activities and Surveillance leaders and assumes responsibility for the efficient operation of the Surveillance department on assigned shift, in absence of
the Director of Surveillance.
Establishes operational procedures for the Surveillance department to ensure that all Casino Internal Controls and Indiana Gaming Commission regulations are strictly adhered to.
Maintains up to date knowledge of changes in operational procedures, gaming regulations and internal controls to ensure that surveillance coverage is optimal.
Notifies company’s Operating Committee and where appropriate Indiana Gaming Commission agents upon detection of illegal activities.
Works closely with the Director of Surveillance to ensure that ample coverage is in place for daily and/or special events at the Casino and in land based facilities, if applicable.
Provides video footage to assist departments in the detection of fraud, insurance claims, employee investigations, and illegal activity.
Oversees the management of attendance and time records Provides periodic training/re-training to Surveillance Operators to ensure the highest levels of skill and knowledge.
Select, train, and develop team members through education, training, coaching, and corrective action. Review all Surveillance Incident Reports Technical ability to operate and work on audio/visual equipment. Assist with performance management of Surveillance team (including but limited to disciplinary action of Surveillance (including but not limited to preparing issues discipline and performance reviews).
Management of staff to include shift scheduling and maintaining proper staffing levels across all shifts. Creates effective and efficient schedules while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and
ensuring overall coverage mandated by gaming regulations.
Review surveillance department actions, personnel and processes with Director of Surveillance. Recruits, interviews, and assists with selection of employees to fill vacant positions in assigned areas. Provides continuous feedback to the Director of Surveillance regarding related issues and makes recommendations for continual improvement.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Surveillance. Must be 21 years of age or older Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Indiana Gaming Commission. Must be available for regularly scheduled work and able to work flexible shifts, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Must have above-average math skills. Must have strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
Must have excellent customer and employee relations skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have knowledge of all casino game rules. Must have knowledge of all applicable gaming regulations. Other duties may be assigned at any time
Responsibilities
Manages three Shift Supervisors who supervise a total of 6 to 14 employees in the Surveillance Department. Is
responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
