Director, IT Gaming & Hospitality

The Director, IT Gaming and Hospitality is responsible for the effective and efficient operations and support of all third party and internally managed Gaming and Hospitality systems used to support the business across the enterprise. This role can include but is not limited to the support of environments like Hospitality, Gaming, Cash Access, Table Games, Retail, Food & Beverage and more. As a member of the IT leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of the technology strategy. It ensures its alignment with the enterprise's IT and business strategy, and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve tribal and business success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Provides onsite oversight and direct support of IT, Gaming and Hospitality systems that fulfill the needs of the business and serve our patrons.2.    Fosters a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.3.    Worke with peers across the organization to establish budget, resources, and roadmap alignment.4.    Works with business, IT teams and vendor resources to ensure good coordination and communications of IT changes to ensure buy-in and to minimize impact to business services and processes.5.    Uses historical information to lead the team towards process, system or procedural improvements to reduce the overall impact and quantity of problems.  6.    Develops and documents direction to ensure alignment between business departments and the Business Services organization.7.    Builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.8.    Is visible and available on location as they are highly involved in the leadership of the day-to-day IT operations.  Directs, trains, leads and mentors managers and supervisors and teams to meet the needs of the business.9.    Guides, advises, and investigates technology solution options and vendors across many platforms and use cases.  May be required to recommend solution options and hold the organization to supportability standards.10.    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in IT is required.  Strong understanding of network and infrastructure operations necessary.  Direct experience in Gaming and/or Hospitality is required.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of proven supervisory experience required.

  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Diversified background of technical infrastructure experience and demonstrated project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, a superior service-oriented IT approach all applicable to a successful candidate.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management and technical teams to influence change and facilitate cooperation.

  • Strong analytic and process skills to track and improve organizational efficiency and performance.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

  • Select One of the Following:

    • ☐ Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

    • ☐ Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

    • ☒ No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

  • IT infrastructure Library (ITIL), IT Service Management (ITSM), Project Management Professional (PMP) and other IT Certifications preferred but not required.
