Position Summary
Provides exceptional service and dining experiences to the guests. Responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive and friendly service. Under general supervision, performs food and beverage activities in support of one of the restaurants in accordance with the respective outlet service guidelines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service and always establishes guest perception of restaurant service as that of exceptional hospitality and friendliness.
- Manages orders from guests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to special requests, while coordinating with kitchen and bar staff.
- Promotes menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue through upselling and suggestive selling techniques.
- Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations governing alcohol service, including age verification and responsible beverage service practices.
- Monitors and intervenes service to guests who appear intoxicated, and handles challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, notifies an on-duty supervisor to follow up with the guests.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of property information regarding restaurants, entertainment, lounges, marketing promotions, upcoming events as well as local points of interest.
- Processes payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and any forms of payment accordingly to established procedures.
- Responsible for all opening and closing side work duties as assigned by management.
- Participates in daily stand-up meetings to ensure property information is understood.
- Adheres to all food safety and hygiene regulations, responsible alcohol service guidelines, to ensure the well-being of guests and compliance with legal requirements.
- Works as part of a cohesive team, assisting fellow team members as needed, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Maintains cleanliness, presentation, and organization of dining areas; including tables, chairs, and condiments stations, to provide a pleasant and inviting environment and adhering to food safety regulations.
- Communication with supervisors and/or managers regarding guest issues that are in need of addressing.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of menu offering, including ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation, to effectively guide guests and answer inquiries.
- Knowledge of beverage selection, including wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as taking orders, serving tables, and processing payments.

- Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food/drink preservation.
- Knowledge of Tribal, federal, state and local sanitary regulations regarding the preparation, maintenance, storage and sales of food/drink products.
- Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
Education And Experience
Required
- One (1) year experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred
- High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.
License/Certifications/Registrations
- Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire.
- Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License upon hire.
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions.

- Must be able to have a flexible work schedule to be able to work weekends and holidays if needed.
