Reporting to the Supervisor Salon, the Nail Technician provides best in class nail and beauty services including but not limited to a wide range of nail care services and techniques, knowledge and understanding of current beauty trends, and health and safety practices for manicures & pedicures. Responsible for operational excellence, product/service knowledge and team member training. Ensures a clean and safe environment for all patrons, team members and vendors, while safeguarding enterprise assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for assisting guests in Salon; making them comfortable and providing best in class nail services consisting of advanced art, and adherence to all health and safety standards while using basic and advanced techniques within scope of practice for manicures & pedicures. Maintains highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all nail and beauty care services offered. Understands ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests. Answers guest’s questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner while monitoring and adhering to time schedule throughout day.2. Prepares nail station and cleans/sterilizes tools as needed using approved sanitizing procedures. Restocks art/service products in nail areas with utmost best in class safety and sanitizing practices during shift.3. Communicates with guests to identify any medical/allergy concerns while discussing guests’ general wellness and service goals prior to conducting service. Models and leads by showing genuine sense of concern for guests’ comfort and safety while creating a “Guest for Life” by providing a best-in-class experience through personalized service. 4. Assists with opening and closing duties for Salon Services while ensuring cleanliness, health and safety of all Spa facilities, Salon service areas, and dispensary of professional Salon/Nail products.5. Provides input to Department management in ongoing development and positioning of beauty Salon services and treatment offerings in terms of overall concept definition, philosophy, service and product offerings.6. Assists with day-to-day operations including product receiving, fulfillment, training/certification requirements, and policy and procedure compliance. Upholds enterprise and Department policies and procedures as well as Standard Operating Procedures. 7. Assists with promoting and maintaining strong loyalty wellness membership.8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required.• A minimum of one (1) year as a practicing licensed & certified Nail Technician in California required. • Two (2) years of professional nail technician experience required • Two (2) years of customer experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
• Must have the ability to communicate verbally across all levels of the enterprise.• Must have good presentation skills.• Must have excellent writing skills and strong computers skills covering Microsoft Office applications as well as all compliance applications.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
• At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.• Must have minimum standards for training and curriculum by California state and local requirements.• State Cosmetology License preferred. • Select One of the Following for Driving Responsibilities: o No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
