Slots Bench Technician

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Slot Technical, the Slot Bench Technician is responsible for slot machine troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and ensuring regulatory integrity and compliance. The Slot Bench Technician participates in equipment installations, relocations, and modifications, as well as advanced component and peripheral repair to ensure games remain in operation and available for guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Performs slot machine troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and ensuring regulatory integrity and compliance.  Performs repairs of all electrical and mechanical slot machines, components, and peripherals. 

2. Repairs all monitors, MPU boards, driver boards, and integrated circuits.  

3. Maintains parts and electronic components inventory of Bench repair area.  Identifies components and parts that require vendor repair. 

4. Maintains current knowledge of casino-related equipment, support equipment, new games, systems, and modifications to existing equipment.  

5. Trains department staff on repair and testing of gaming and related system equipment. 

6. Participates in equipment installations, relocations, and modifications to include online systems.  Performs necessary tasks for game preparation, part compatibility checks, game, and product conversion, and functional testing.  

7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. 

Education/Experience/Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED required. 

  • Associate’s Degree or above in electronics or related field preferred. 

  • Three (3) years experience as a Slot Technician or equivalent required. 

  • Ability to read and comprehend electronic component symbols, blueprints, schematic drawings, short correspondence, and memos. 

  • Must be able to use oscilloscopes, frequency counters, DVM/DMM, and other technical tools on a regular basis. 

  • Required to possess comprehensive knowledge of all Policies and Procedures governed by the Gaming Commission Regulations.  

  • Strong technical verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify terminology that a non-technical end user and/or senior executive can understand. 

  • Ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients as well as third-party service/product providers. 

  • The incumbent must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality as they will have access to financial data.  

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
