Position Summary

The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests during banquet events, conferences, and special occasions. Ensure that all food and beverage items are served efficiently, maintain cleanliness and organization in banquet areas, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Serves at Food and Beverage functions in accordance with Banquet Event Orders, Banquet Service policies, and Banquet Management instruction.
  2. Provides every guest with friendly, professional, courteous and timely service.  Responsible for greeting guests at assigned tables and providing exceptional service throughout the event.  Responsible for assisting in setting banquet rooms with proper linen, silverware, china and glassware for each event as instructed by the Convention Center Manager or Banquet Captain. 
  3. Stocks service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
  4. Bus (remove, replace, and clear) during and after service. As well as assisting in the clearing of banquet rooms at end of service and the reset or refreshing of the room for the next event, as necessary.
  5. Participate in daily stand-up meetings to ensure proper directives are understood.
  6. Timely completion of computer assisted training as required.
  7. Returns all equipment to their proper storage area and maintains cleanliness and organization.
  8. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. 

 Additional Responsibilities

  1. Preforms additional j0b-related functions as assigned.
  2. Works collaboratively with other team members to deliver the highest degree of service to the guest.
  3. A quality guest service experience is an essential component for all Team members working at the Pueblo of Sandia particularly those positions assigned to work in all public areas.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

   Education And Experience  

Required

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
    1. Year Food or Beverage Service experience. 

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Course within 30 days of date of hire.
  2. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License.

Stooping

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

List Working Conditions Required:

  1. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outside work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  2. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  3. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke; diseases; cuts bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  4. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  5. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time.
  6. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. and push or pull 100 lbs.
  7. Available to work, nights, weekends, holidays, split shift schedule and overtime as needed.
