Position Summary
The Public Area Supervisor is assigned various cleaning assignments whilst providing supervisory support to the Public Area Manager. These assignments include maintaining the cleanliness of the casino, resort and related facility areas.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs orientation and training of new Public Areas employees. Makes sure that all new employees engage with Resort and Casino guests in a friendly and courteous manner and adheres to the Public Areas Service Standards and operating procedures.
- Supervises and evaluates the work assigned to Public Areas personnel.
- Oversees cleaning of casino floor, slot machines, resort public areas and other furnishings.
- In collaboration with the Public Areas Manager, prepares the weekly schedule including any special project schedules.
- Provides assistance with employee performance evaluations.
- Performs and processes employee disciplinary action reports and provides feedback to the Manager.
- Monitors Public Areas employee timecards for accuracy and provides appropriate approvals.
- Monitors and maintains proper inventory levels and will order cleaning supplies as required. Responsible that all cleaning equipment is maintained in proper working order and is stored after use.
- Prepares and maintains files, records, reports, and related documents in support of departmental activities.
- Under an emergency evacuation and fire, performs emergency mechanical shutdowns, such as turning off/on electric power and gas.
- Completes daily inspections of all casino and resort restrooms that fall in the scope of cleaning for Public Areas.
- Is responsible for submitting all maintenance issues into the EAM system on the cell phone or desk top version. And following up with Facilities to ensure work has been completed satisfactorily.
- Must attend all required departmental training to include but not limited to; bio clean-up, carpet shampooing, administering First Aid and chemical safety.
- Is primarily responsible for ensuring that all Public Areas personnel complete all mandatory and required departmental training.
- Ensures all keys are issued and signed out and returned by the end of shift.
- Will complete any project issued to them by their Public Areas Manager or Director of Housekeeping Services.
- Responsible for ensuring department vehicles are being properly maintained in good working order.
- Is responsible for ensuring that their assigned staff are always trained and providing proper customer service.
- Ensures that all damaged equipment is properly tagged with a repair tag and that the Public Areas Manager and Administrative Assistant are notified to coordinate repairs.
- Participates in the departmental Safety Committee and attends monthly Safety meetings with the Director of Housekeeping Services.
- Attends Job Fairs as needed and participates in the interview screening process, providing feedback to the Public Areas Manager.
- Creates an environment of teamwork by communicating common goals and showing appreciation for team members contributions and on-going support.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned scheduled each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.

- Must be able to apply information learned during departmental training sessions, to include proper equipment handling, First Aid and chemical safety.
Education And Experience
Required
- Two (2) years’ experience in an environmental services work environment to include supervisory responsibilities.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.
License/Certifications/Registrations
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license.
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
