Job Overview: Manages the overall food operation for Mystic Express to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations. Manages all staff and activities of the food service operation to ensure internal guest satisfaction. Responsible for meeting financial goals Mystic Express.

Empower Your Future: The Work You’ll Lead:

• Manages and coordinates, in conjunction with Assistant Managers, food service activities to obtain effective use of equipment, facilities, and personnel. Conducts daily operations in adherence to policies, procedures, food quality, safety, and service standards. May recommend acquisition of new equipment or re-design of space to increase efficiency and safety of operations.
• Ensures the quality and consistency of all products.
• Maintains proper rotation of products.
• Ensures compliance with all prescribed food and safety standards.
• Plans weekly and daily specials.
• Maintains sanitation through regular inspections of equipment, supplies and proper food storage.
• Tracks covers and revenue; develops and recommends strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals. Analyzes trends to project future performance.
• Participates in the development and formulation of administrative and operational policies and procedures. Designs work processes and oversees scheduling to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Prepares department budget. Reviews monthly profit and loss statement and explains variances; reviews and monitors budget, including weekly payroll and tip reports.
• Interviews, selects, hires, and promotes team members; plans training and development in conjunction with HRD, and completes performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and terminations.

Job Requirements:

• Any combination of post-high school restaurant education and restaurant management experience to equal seven years.
• Any combination of culinary education and cooking experience to equal five years.
• The ability to communicate basic information and ideas in spoken English so others will understand.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation practices, quality control, recipe interpretation and prep duties.
• Basic experience with word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation, electronic mail software, and restaurant-specific software.
• Certified Food Service Manager Certificate or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
