Position Summary

Serves as a technical expert in at least one area of application support and development technology.  Reviews, analyzes and modifies application systems to support the organization’s multi-platform technical environment.  Coordinate efforts for system and user administration to ensure the reliability, availability, integrity and security of data of the Sandia Resort and Casino Information Systems Infrastructure.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Plans, designs, develops, and launches efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions.
  2. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing.
  3. Documents user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify business systems.
  4. Evaluates effectiveness of existing information processing systems.
  5. Reviews computer system capabilities and workflows to determine if program change is possible within an existing system.
  6. Documents operations to be performed at all phases of project implementation.
  7. Researches new information systems that meet current and projected needs.
  8. Prepares documentation of program development, implementation and maintenance of information systems, and procedures for system use.
  9. Prepares time and cost estimates for completing assigned projects.
  10. Coordinates and executes system upgrades and updates.
  11. Maintains proficiency in field of expertise by remaining knowledgeable and current with system’s hardware and software.
  12. Evaluates and coordinates training needs for information and operations systems.
  13. Serves as primary support for key operators of Information Technology (IT) systems and coordinates regularly scheduled Key Operator meetings.
  14. Ensures that all applications and systems that he/she is responsible for are available at all times and takes proactive steps to achieve 100% uptime.
  15. Adheres to all communicated project milestones and deadlines.
  16. Quarterly and annual reviews of application and system security with management and revise systems security as required.
  17. Will adhere to all Information Technology (IT) Internal Controls and Standard Operating Procedures.
  18. Conducts regularly scheduled department stand ups.
  19. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to

report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for

Pueblo Sandia.

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success.  KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  1. Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) concepts, principles and practices.
  2. Knowledge of computer operations and user environments.
  3. Working knowledge of the following applications: Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Suite of applications.
  4. Ability to understand, process and integrate training in multiple systems and programs.
  5. Ability to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work independently, manage projects, install, configure, upgrade, maintain, monitor system performance, network resources and provide guidance to team members.
  7. Ability to analyze business requirements and make recommendations for improvement through technology.
  8. Must possess strong customer service skills.
  9. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Ability to create reports and maintains files.
  11. Ability to be well organized.
  12. Ability work in fast pace, high pressure situations.
  13. Ability to work well with others.

   Education And Experience 

Required

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), CIS (Computer Information Systems) or related field
  2. Four (4) years’ experience coordinating technical projects, including two (2) years as an application manager. 
  3. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Lifting

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

Pulling

Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Pushing

Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.

Reaching

Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Seeing

The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.

Walking

Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations.

Sitting

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Standing

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Stooping

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Talking

Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

  1. Work is performed indoors.
  2. Must be willing to work in a 24x7 environment and be part of an on-call rotation.
  3. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  4. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  5. Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  6. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  7. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
