Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager plans, directs and coordinates the marketing department’s advertising, promotions, special events and reinvestment programs for Sandia Resort & Casino. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing and Executive team members in strategically developing the vision and direction for the marketing department and property.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Assists with the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategic marketing plans involving advertising, promotions, special events, and reinvestment programs
  2. Works closely with Director of Marketing and department managers to develop marketing plans and strategies to execute promotions, events, business plans and grow revenue
  3. Manages within the marketing budget and communicates results and forecasts to executive management
  4. Leads and participates in management level meetings intended to communicate marketing initiatives for the organization
  5. Support the development, strategy and execution of Peak Rewards (loyalty program) and entertainment initiatives
  6. Writes and coordinates with STGC the approval of promotions and special events submissions and ensures implementation occurs as designed
  7. Develops contracts, ensures the contract approval process is followed and communicates to outside vendors and business partners at the property
  8. Processes vendor selection and other purchasing process requirements as per company guidelines
  9. Works with outside vendors and coordinates with the department administrative assistant to ensure delivery and pricing is acceptable with organizational purchasing standards
  10. Builds strategic alliances with reputable marketing business partners creating greater brand awareness and financial benefit to Sandia Resort & Casino
  11. Monitors assigned marketing budget for expenses, invoices, payroll verification, accruals, prepaid accounts, and variance reporting
  12. Coordinates with various departments and agencies regarding departmental needs, such as staffing, supplies, artwork, etc., are ready on time
  13. Performs duties in accordance with property compliance and regulation standards as established by the Pueblo of Sandia and regulatory agencies
  14. Leads direct reports to achieve outlined goals and business objectives by periodically meeting with and assisting with tasks and needs
  15. Monitors subordinates job responsibilities, tracking mechanisms and production to ensure compliance with organizational and department standards
  1. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. 

 Additional Responsibilities

  1. Provides direct management and supervision to all reporting Team Members, typically for a larger department, operational area or more complex professional department. 
  2. Functions as an advisor to the operations and sets goals that are results oriented, organized, and account for business challenges. 
  3. Guides the team to achieve a well-defined structure and efficient operation. 
  4. Delegates responsibilities to the most qualified Team Members through observing and understanding strengths and weaknesses. 
  5. Creates an environment of teamwork, through communicating common goals, shows appreciation for team members contributions and on-going support, and leads by example. 
  6. Collaborates and communicates effectively in a professional and articulate manner. 
  7. Demonstrates strong knowledge of all reporting departments/operational areas.
  8. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems, generate solutions, and implement them.
  9. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  1. Strong business communications skills
  2. Proven experience in reviewing and developing promotional materials and collateral
  3. Strong track record of understanding market dynamics and responding in a pro-active manner to assure achievement of business objectives
  4. Experience analyzing marketing programs, strategies and initiatives for recommendations on pricing and promotions
  5. Ability to create effective internal and external working relationships
  6. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  7. Ability to draft reports and give oral and written presentations
  8. Knowledge of the casino entertainment industry
  9. Experience with advertising and/or direct marketing campaigns
  10. Experience with marketing promotions and/or special events.

   Education And Experience  

Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Advertising or related field and four (4) years’ experience in management and administration of an adverting/marketing department preferably in a casino or gaming establishment
  2. Proven experience leading a creative team

Preferred

  1. Digital art software certification such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, Corel, etc.

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
