Position Summary

Serves as the coordinator for supportive services for the Pueblo of Sandia Tribal Court’s restorative program, Healing to Wellness Court (HTWC). This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, documentation, communication, and case management of male and female clients and their identified family members involved in reintegration and/or reunification efforts stemming from Tribal Offenses or Tribal Court Interventions. This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of data collection systems to monitor participants and family members: engagement, compliance, and outcome measures. The position is to work towards identifying trends, performance measures, and performance outcomes for the basis of evaluation from a strengths-based perspective.

This position provides wrap around services through case management to participants and identified family members, by creating inter-agency linkages to address participant’s needs in the areas of transportation, housing, medical, mental health, education, vocation, skills training, and employment. This position will collaborate across disciplines from the fields of health care, behavioral health, education, law enforcement, courts, and Tribal Leadership. This position provides intakes, assessments, recommendations, and referrals for all clients associated with HTWC. This position facilitates the HTWC monthly multi-disciplinary committee meetings.

This position is responsible for coordinating adult, child, elder, vulnerable and offending populations’ prevention and protective services to support the preservation and protection of the Pueblo of Sandia Tribal Families, Community, and Culture. This position is expected to achieve its goals and objectives through direct action, collaboration, and reporting to the Pueblo of Sandia Tribal Courts, Probation, Administration, and Leadership.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Facilitates planning, development and implementation for the HTWC through the Tribal Court Case System
  2. In conjunction with court staff, the Healing to Wellness Coordinator is responsible for forming, coordinating and staffing a multidisciplinary advisory team, drafting/updating a program policy and procedures to screen and determine eligibility of participants, and produce deliverables required by the granting agency in a timely manner
  3. Work collaboratively with the Healing to wellness multidisciplinary advisory team and court staff in the development of programming for services for Healing to Wellness participants who are struggling with drug and/or alcohol issues and facing criminal sanctions
  4. Coordinates and attends all hearings and monthly meetings with Tribal Courts, Leadership, and Administration for HTWC
  5. Organize, attend and facilitate case staffing meetings conducted prior to review hearings and participate in review hearings
  6. Develop community resources for Healing to Wellness participants
  7. Manages daily operations, filing systems and provides needed audits and reports for compliance with the HTWC
  8. Maintains up-to-date record of participant performance and provides progress reports/recommendations/ for the Healing to Wellness (HTW) Committee during HTWC meetings from intake to termination of a case
  9. Submit monthly reports to Court Administrator
  10. Advocates for timely review, progress incentives, and relapse or recidivistic sanctions in response to client behavior for HTWC
  11. Coordinates continuum of care and transitions support through regular contact with external and internal reporting agencies, referral agencies, Tribal Courts, Leadership, and Administration
  12. Develops post-program services and prevention efforts for participant alumni and family for HTWC
  13. Compiles data, reports, and statistics regarding cases for Tribal Courts, Leadership and approved reporting agencies
  14. Participate in relevant conferences, meetings, committees as needed and the Healing to Wellness advisory team
  15. Must possess the ability to work in a team approach with the willingness to work collaboratively with various programs
  16. Main Back-up to the Court Clerk duties
  17. Performs other duties as assigned  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  1. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), etc.
  2. Must adhere to confidentiality and data privacy act
  3. Ability to interact professionally with members of the Tribal Community, Leadership, administration, general public, court staff, etc.
  4. Ability to plan, implement, and coordinate work with other Sandia Departments to operate programming for HTWC
  5. Ability to effectively work in a culturally diverse environment with clients and participants facing legal, custodial, and other challenging situations
  6. Must be organized and detail oriented for timely reporting, service delivery, and coordination of meetings and hearings
  7. Strong written and oral communication skills

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  2. One (1) year experience working with clients in a social services environment.
  3. Two (2) years’ experience working in an administrative role in a court/law office/social services organization.
  4. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background and character investigation in compliance with PL 101.630.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain any other licenses and/or certifications as determined by management.
  3. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
  4. Must be insurable by the Pueblo’s motor vehicle insurance.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  2. Flexible schedule to allow for at least one evening per week to see clients and occasional weekend commitments.
  3. No or very limited physical effort required.
  4. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
